St. Sarah’s serves the Greater Boston area as a parish of the Apostolic Johannite Church. Our community is named for St. Sarah the Egyptian, whose devotion to others reflects the core Johannite principle of reverencing the spark of divinity–the Sacred Flame–present in every Being.
Our work together celebrates the inner knowledge of the Divine Mysteries, which is called “gnosis” in Greek. We seek this individual and direct experience of the Divine through the Sacraments and fellowship, service to our community, meditation and prayer, lively discussion and study.
We meet on the third Sunday of every month at 5:00 pm at the Theosophical Society in Arlington, Massachusetts. We are holding virtual Mass for the time being. See the Visit Us page for more info and links. We welcome anyone interested in pursuing a personal spiritual journey in community with others. Because we see the Sacred Flame to be present in all people, we are an inclusive community welcoming all people of good will regardless of race, creed, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, physical or mental ability, or marital status. We are a vibrant and diverse community, bonded by shared ritual practice, study, and mutual loving regard.
Peace to you in the light of gnosis, and the warmest of welcomes to our parish.
